EVENTS IN-STORE

The Aga Local Life campaign comes to OrpingtonHewitts Farm Shop, great for delicious, fresh local produce

Local is best - and on the 6th September, we at the Aga shop held an event to showcase some of the best local producers that are in our area. Once again Hewitts Farm Shop and Cocoapod were on hand - with beautiful in-store stalls displaying their delectable wares!

Sausages, bacon and chicken were supplied by local butchers,  Dennis of Bexley. All the products they supplied were of an excellent quality, and formed the basis for a number of popular dishes cooked during the course of the event.

An Aga cookery demonstration was hosed by Diane van Bueren, who created scrummy dishes for all to sample and enjoy. Of course, the dishes used various local ingredients that our partner producers kindly supplied. Why not try out the Chicken Biriyani or the Bacon and Apricot wraps that were cooked on the day (recipes can be found below). Both dishes are truely delicious!

On Collette
I joined Fired Earth  in 2004 with both  a catering and interiors background.  Hewitts Farm offered a fantastic opportunity to combine both passions.

I have enjoyed developing an experienced team who share my passion for the product, each member has their own speciality area including Home Design, Colour Consultation, Trade, and of course Aga.

Being situated on a farm helps remind us that our philosophy is to combine style and taste with natural beauty, particularly being surrounded by the ‘’ Garden of England’’ and the stunning architecture of Kent, as well as offering our customers the opportunity to indulge in some fruit picking.

I aim to ensure the team never loses sight of the fact that home furnishing should be both satisfying and above all enjoyable.

On Donald
The Aga Shop within Fired Earth, Hewitt's Farm launched with some ceremony at the end of November 2004. With a small team we have striven to build sales of traditional Agas as well as Refrigerators, Freezers, Cookware and our conventional range cookers.

I joined the company; at first working part-time, as I was still running my own textiles business. However, as I was closing my company down, I was pleased to be asked to go full-time and, after a brief sojourn at our Tunbridge Wells shop, I was delighted to return to Hewitt's Farm as Assistant Manager.

As mentioned, my previous career was in textiles. With my wife Tina, we ran a large, unique, specialist shop in, South London, Business was, for twenty years or more, excellent. However, times change, and the craft-textile industry suffered a serious decline. So, after many years of being the 'Boss' , I swapped fabrics for cookers and joined Aga as a 'humble employee!'  I love the product and I am pleased to say that I now have a shiny Black 3 Oven Aga taking pride of place in my kitchen!
