Best of British Food Open Week: 18th - 25th September 2010
Join us from Saturday 18th to Saturday 25th September for a series of Open Days that celebrates our love of British Food.
During this special week, you'll be able to see the new Figgy Pudding Textiles - the perfect accompaniment for your AGA Christmas - plus fantastic offers on Rayburn and AGA Upgrades this Autumn.
We've also dedicated Saturday 25th September as a technical day so if you have any questions please come along and ask the experts.

Our showroom features a 4 oven pewter 30amp night storage electric demonstration AGA, a fully operational gas Rayburn 480AG that provides our central heating and hot water, as well as being used for cookery demonstrations. In addition we have a Six-Four, a Four Two, a Masterchef Deluxe, and the latest additions are the stunning AGA Side By Side Refrigerator in black and a Little Wenlock Classic stove.
MEET THE TEAM
Shop Manager, Gaynor Doherty has worked at The AGA Shop Kendal for 5 years and is herself an AGA owner. Indeed, Gaynor has the 3-oven, 13 amp electric AGA that she chose for its ease of installation and flexibility for positioning almost anywhere in the kitchen. Her colleague Emma Taylor is also an AGA owner. Both say that they couldn’t image life without their AGA. The simplicity of AGA cooking allows Gaynor time for swimming, reading and DIY and rasing funds for her daughter's school. Lynda Walden has been a dedicated AGA Shop member for 13 years and we recently welcomed Anne Graves as the newest member of the team having been with us fo 3 years. Project manager Andrew Kay has worked with AGA for many years and has a wealth of experience with fitting the AGA coker.
 IN-STORE EVENTS
We regularly hold in-store events and demonstrations on our live 4 oven night storage AGA. Please contact the store for up to date event information. Weekly Baking: Anne or Lynda always have a cake on the go and we regularly have a go at new recipes from all your favourite AGA authors including Mary Berry, Lucy Young, Louise Walker among others. Why not pop in for a slice of something simply delicious!
Our anniversary celebrations kicked off in fine form with our 'Best Of Baking' event from 17th-19th September. Customers loved the seemingly endless array of baked goods produced by the AGA and loved taking advantage of our 3 for 2 offer on cast iron cookware! Pictures are three of our customers who attended the event and who started the celebrations with the cutting of the anniversary cake.
AGA AUTHENTIC UPGRADE PROGRAMME
AGA offer three exciting opportunities for AGA owners to upgrade their existing AGA:
RE-INVENT allows you to add the innovative AGA Intelligent Management System (AIMS) to your cooker so that it is only a full temperature when you need to be. At other times it will be in ‘low’ or ‘slumber’ mode, reducing the heat output into the kitchen and conserving fuel!
RESTORE allows to to upgrade the exterior of your AGA to make it look like new! We can change the domes, the black top or you can change the colour to suit your décor
RENEW allows you to trade in your existing AGA against a new model. Your existing AGA will be recycled and will form part of a new one. Indeed, over 70% of an AGA comes from recycled material.

DIRECTIONS
We are located near the centre of the town, on Stramongate, down from the cobbled street and the historic market place, passing the 1657 chocolate house and just opposite the Quaker Tapestry Exhibition and tearooms, well known in the town centre.
By Road – Leave at Junction 36 of the M6 and take the A590 to Kendal south. Follow the Windermere signs through the town centre and the multi storey car park is on the left, clearly sign posted. Park in there and follow the signs for Stramongate.
Or take the A590 and follow the signs to Kendal town centre. Follow the one way system and at the traffic lights located at Kwik Fit, Sandes Avenue, turn right and park in the multi storey car park. Follow the signs for Stramongate.
By Train – From Kendal station follow the signs for Stramongate.By Bus - Get off at the Kendal bus station and follow the signs to Stramongate
