Saturday 27th Sepember with James McIntosh
Nationally renowned Aga expert, James McIntosh will be dishing out advice and delicious food at Vale Farm on Saturday 27th September between 12 and 2pm. Tickets cost £15, please contact us at the showroom at book your place today.
James has run cookery demonstrations for Aga shops internationally for the last five years and is committed to making sure people get the most from their cooking experiences. He will be presenting ‘A Day in the Life of an Aga’ with recipes from breakfast to supper.
"Unless you've been raised with an Aga as part of the family, cooking a meal in one for the first time can seem a daunting experience. No knobs and dials to twiddle to set your temperature. And what is a Cold Plain Shelf exactly?!” he says. "Yet nothing could be simpler when you know how. And that's precisely what I will be demonstrating."

A Day in the Life of the Aga with Sue Wrigley
I'm delighted to be doing a Day in the Life........my very favourite dem. It always excites me that this is the dawn of enthusiasm and confidence to cook on an Aga and however long people have had an Aga they generally learn something new, if not from the demonstration then from others attending. It's also a chance to ask all those questions that seem perhaps a bit silly, but you would like to know the answers!
I first cooked on one 30+ years ago (BC........before children!!) when there was one in the cottage that we bought. So the kids grew up with it. I worked for the Gas board at the time and have since worked for British Meat, Seafish, Potato Marketing Board, Calor Gas etc. For Aga I went to France for 3 years doing demonstrations in Paris and other shops (in French!!!)
My demonstration will be basic methods, baking......cakes, quiche; grilling..........3 ways; steaming as well as roasting and cooking vegetables using simple recipes.........no rocket science for me!!!

She'll be using her expertise to create delicious sweets and savouries that will inspire you to get cooking. For his Aga Christmas demonstrations, James will be showing how easy it is to cook a Christmas dinner on the Aga, all in an hour and a half. Directional light, the type of house, room, traditional or modern, existing furniture, rugs, pictures and not least, personality; yours and your home.
Instore or Home Colour Consultation
A free instore consultation appointment can be arranged with your local showroom. Alternatively, for a fee, we will visit your home to provide your home colour consultation and take measurements of your room.You will have the opportunity to discuss your tastes and requirements including:
Discuss colour, style and appropriate usage of Fired Earth tiles, paint, wood flooring.
We will suggest design and colour schemes, demonstrating samples of products.
We will also provide estimates for your chosen products and guide prices for tile or wood flooring installation.
KITCHEN PLANNING SERVICE
This is an opportunity for you to utilise the planning and design skills of our team for your kitchen including furniture, paint, wall and floor tiles or wood flooring. For a fee our Kitchen Planning Service includes:
Home Visit
Free Fired Earth catalogue and paint card.
Discuss colour, style and appropriate usage of Fired Earth furniture, tiles, paint and wood flooring.
Suggest design and colour schemes, demonstrating samples of products.
Take measurements of your kitchen.
Plan the appropriate positioning of your Original Shaker or Bastide kitchen furniture.
Discuss budgets and timescales form deliveries.
Design Pack
Sample loans to the value of £100/€150 (applies to wall and floor tiles and wood flooring) to be returned on the conclusion of the project.
Estimates for all products and tile and wood flooring installation where appropriate.
A scaled plan of your kitchen with furniture positioning.
A moodboard and visual representation of your kitchen.
Upon placing your order you will receive elevations and specifications.
FIRED EARTH TILING INSTALLATION SERVICE
We operate a national tiling service for the fixing of both floor and wall tiles. We will be happy to provide you with a free estimate without obligation for the work you are undertaking, and our showrooms will explain the procedure for obtaining an estimate. Please contact your nearest showroom for more information. By using our tilers you will minimise the risk of incorrect work being carried out and we will take responsibility for ensuring that you order the correct quantity of tiles, adhesive, grout, sealer etc.
