Private party for the Greensted Green & District Agricultural Club
On the 2nd October, we held a fun-packed private cookery demonstration for the Greensted Green & District Agricultural Club with local Aga Chef Mark David(right), who proved to be as charming as always. The delicious Autumn-inspired menu of roasted pheasant and partridge went down a treat and the desserts proved be mouth watering. A very enjoyable evening was had by everyone (including the staff!) and we do look forward to seeing them again next year.
A Local Life Celebration!
The Aga Local Life campaign recently launched the Aga Shop Colchester, where the topics of supporting and promoting locally produced foods took centre stage.
With a huge range of top local ingredients on hand our demonstrator Mary Kemp found little trouble in finding inspiration for her menu. Wicks Manor Pork supplied succulent bacon and sausages, The River Nene Organics gave us plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit and delicious lamd was generously supplied by Colne Valley Butchers. Fresh, free-range eggs were supplied by Brick Kiln Farm and delicious home-made bread proved to be a great treat, thanks to our local Blackberry Bakery.
Not only was there a diverse, tasty range of just cooked foods we were also pleased to have local glass jewellery maker, Eileen, in-store, selling and creating her beautiful pieces. Alternative medicine and healing specialist Karen Coy of local business Anahata, offered some great healty living an lifestyle tips to our visitors. All our customer who attended had a great time, enjoying the variety of activites we had on hand. We must admit, we enjoyed the day too!
Thanks to these following partner producers for their contributions on the day: Butterfly Lodge Dairy - a great variety of luxury goats milk products including ice-cream and cheese The Food Company G&J Barron Farms Carrol Thompson Floral Moments for her donation of beautiful flowers Greenstead farm Shop

Recycle with us, and support a great cause!
All the staff here at The Aga Shop Colchester, like to do their bit for the environment and recycle all they can. All our bottles, cans, etc go to the local recycling banks - we even recycle postage stamps! However, like many other businesses, we have found it difficult to effectively recycle our old printer cartridges.
We have now discovered that there are many charities that get a donation from every old ink cartridge sent to them - one such charity being the Guide Dogs Recycling Scheme. As a result, we have decided to support this particular initiative. If any of our customers would like to help us simply bring your empty ink cartridges to the shop, and we will forward them on to the charity.
